Princess Castle/Cottage

Michelle visited us this weekend from DC. She is a former co-worker of mine--we both worked at a kitchen/bath design firm for a couple of years before she had her first daughter, Kira, and decided to stay home with her. She has since had another daughter, Jenna.

She came bearing a Princess Castle that can turn into a cottage. As you can see from the video, the girls were in heaven!

Michelle figured out that we had it on the poles sideways which alleviated some of the tripping by making it lay flatter.

She also made a cute board that matches the nursery colors so we can post pictures and cards for them to look at.
Saturday night after we got the girls into bed, Michelle and I headed out to Calo for Italian food and Len settled in with a grilled steak to watch the LSU game. After Calo, we headed to the Hancock Observatory for some spectacular viewing of nighttime Chicago.
Sunday morning was breakfast at Ann Sather...Lucy liked lingonberries on Swedish waffles and Kate was all about the bacon.
As soon as we got home it was time to play in the cottage and on the relocated "nest"
The time change today totally screwed us up this morning. Lucy awakened at what should have been 6am but instead was 5am. Kate stayed asleep for much longer and didn't get up until 7:30 in the new time change. Not sure what's going on with Kate lately as she has napped for the past 4 days in a row and slept through the night for the most part (she awakened at 5am on Saturday morning but catnapped in the rocking chair with me until 7am). I hope I didn't jinx myself for this week!

Hi Lisa, it must be cold in Chicago, judging by the clothing you're wearing! Good on Lucy for enjoying lingonberries. They are also great with savory dishes like meatballs!

LOL! I'm with Kate...I would have been all about the bacon...;) If my mom would have heard you talk about Kate sleeping more lately she would have immediately said, "She growing and needing some extra rest." :) lol
