A day at the zoo

We spent most of yesterday at the zoo. We headed first to the Primate House upon the girls' request. They both loved looking at the monkeys with one exception...Kate's extraordinary sense of smell led her to keep saying, "I am no okay with smelling all of this poop."

They loved the baby orangutang who ended up playing hide and seek in a paper bag with the girls.

We missed seeing the elephants being washed but we did get to see them up close as they snacked on some hay.

We did make it in time to feed lettuce to the giraffes. Kate asked if she was allowed to eat the lettuce herself. Ummm. No.

Next up was the carousel. They LOVED it.

We ended our afternoon with a train ride around Hermann Park. The girls had a good time and really loved that we rode past the playground that we go to.

We got home around 4pm so we had an early dinner and got the girls into bed by 6:30pm. They were EXHAUSTED. I have to say that I was too but I still had to stay up to watch election results. No matter who you voted for, the one thing we can all agree on is this: thank god that's over!
