Her bones they are a healing

We arrived bright and early (7:15am) to have Lucy's arm xrayed to see how it was faring.
The news was good! Three more weeks in this cast (they added another fiberglass layer (she chose pink) over the existing cast to secure the cast cuts that were made to help with the initial swelling)
and then she will get a shorter, WATERPROOF!, cast for 2 more weeks.

Expected date of cast removal is July 23.

In the meantime, the orthopaedist approved the use of this item to allow her to play in the water parks. We are still banned from sand (and thus the lake/beach) but at least the spray parks are an option. It says you can actually swim in these things but I want to see how it works in the spray park first.

Good news all around!

I just had a chance to read this post in full. That is great Lucy will be able to swim later this summer. I was also glad to see they have made advances in the "cast condom" since I was a kid. :) Mine did not have a thumb.

Looking good! So glad she will be able to swim later this summer but more importantly that nasty break is healing. The cover for the cast is neat! I wish they'd make torso covers. I couldn't shower for 4 weeks and man was it good to be able to shower.
