Monday the girls had off from school so I signed them up for a zoo tour through a deal one of the language classes was offering. It was a 1 1/2 hour tour of the Lincoln Park Zoo with your choice of a Chinese or Spanish language instructor for $15 (both kids!). We met up after lunch to find that the rain had kept many of the kids away. While the Spanish class had a handful of students, Lucy and Kate were the only ones in the Chinese class so we had two instructors for a private lesson. The great thing about that was we had a choice over which animals we wanted to see and learn about. There aren't too many pictures as we had to keep putting our umbrellas up as little rainstorms popped up but overall, it was a good time and the girls learned a few new words, including carousel (Xuánzhuǎn mùmǎ), which they REALLY wanted to ride. I introduced them to the word "raincheck" which went over about as well as you might expect.
