Kindergarten graduation

The girls graduated from kindergarten on Friday the 10th. The school holds a big production that includes performances by all of the graduates from all the language communities (Spanish, Mandarin and Japanese) as well as performances by some of the upper elementary communities. All told, it was about 1 1/2 hours but was really fun to watch. Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of it on tape (long story that is too boring and upsetting to relate) but I did manage to get a few pictures and one snippet of the girls saying their name as they blew out their candle.

For comparison, here are the girls on their first day of kindergarten and then on their last day:

Taller but still just as silly.

Here are all the graduates singing the opening song, Hello, in many different languages.
The Hat Dance performed by the Long Feng and Jade (Mandarin) communities.
Our graduates!
With their teachers, Qiongwei and Yi Chu.
Qiongwei made each graduate a book filled with photos of their past three years in school. With each picture she wrote a bit about what was happening, what they had learned or what they were celebrating. The kids could not wait to look at them and compare. Each book was different and focused only on that child. It was an amazing gift.
Here are a few examples from their books:

I loved that she wrote this on Kate's final page because she was having a very difficult time saying goodbye.

Such a thoughtful gift that the girls will treasure forever. We will miss their school and teachers tremendously.

The books are wonderful. I wonder where she got them? They look like they came ready bound with the box to write in already there. I am thinking they would make good end of year gifts. You must be very sorry to have to leave that school but I guess are on to new adventures and experiences at your new home, which by the way looks absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see more photos. How are you all doing settling in, especially Bella?

Hi Elizabeth, No idea where the photo books were purchased but they do look like they were already bound with the area to write in. They were fantastic gifts. Bella is doing quite well--loves all the new windows to look out of and is enjoying new sunning spots and bird watching. I think she may be losing weight too with three levels to climb!
